What is aesthetics? Aesthetics is a brand of philosophy that explores concepts of beauty in art.

What is beauty? Beauty is “the quality in a thing that gives pleasure to the senses or pleasurably exalts the mind or spirit”. Beauty is subjective. Beauty can shift over time. Beauty is dependent on context. When qualities like color, form, and shape are combined in a way that pleases the aesthetic senses and the intellect, we call that beauty.

In graphic design, aesthetics relates to the visual attractiveness and cohesiveness of a work. Good design usually incorporates the elements and principles of design. Good design often communicates a mood or feel that goes beyond the content within the design.

Web design involves sight, sound, and touch. Web design also requires fluid designs that are flexible enough to adapt to different display sizes and devices. First impressions are vital. Good design can produce positive feelings about a product or service. The aesthetic of design is often immediate and unconscious, and can be just as vital as non-visual qualities like price or durability.

What are the elements of design? They are the parts or components in a work that should be considered when creating any design. 8 elements of design: color/value/texture/shape/form/space/line/type

Principle of design: The rules of design, which should always be considered even if you end up not using them.

Designer’s roles: 1.Marring project goals with aesthetics. 2.Designing with code in mind. 3.Designing for all devices. 4.Communicating effectively. 5.Accountability. 6.Taking the bird’s eye view.

Design for code: HTML/CSS/JavaScript/PHP. Design for devices: Navigation/Usability/Readability/Accessibility. Effective communication: Shared resources/Uniform naming conventions/Common goals/Collaboration.

Communicating layout issues:1.keep copy uniform by using max character counts. 2.present a mockup to demonstrate improved visuals. 3.Reiterate project goals and importance of connecting with target audience.

Usability is Crucial to the Success of an Effective Web Design
Usability of a website refers to how easy it is for new visitors to navigate the site, find what they are looking for, and interact as necessary. When visitors come to your website is it easy for them to find the navigation? Can they go from one page to another, and then backtrack to the home page? Or do they get lost and, possibly leave in frustration? A good Web Design company will be able to create sitemaps and a site structure that will make your site easy to navigate for search engine spiders as well as human visitors.

Readability is another important element of Web Design
Readability is another element of Web Design and this pertains to how easy it is to read the website. Many website owners do not know that black text on white background is the easiest text to read. While black backgrounds can look fun and modern, it’s uncomfortable for the average reader. Keep this in mind while choosing colors for your site, and always choose a dark text on light background.
